Teaching and Learning

At Rockport Public Schools, the Office of Teaching and Learning is dedicated to supporting students and teachers so that every child can thrive. This office guides what and how students learn by ensuring our curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessments are aligned with Massachusetts state standards and best practices. A key part of this work is the Curriculum Councils, which brings together content coordinators at Rockport Elementary School and at Rockport Middle High School. Theses councils help maintain strong curriculum alignment across grade levels, supports teachers with resources and collaboration, and ensures a smooth academic progression from early childhood through graduation.
The Office also leads the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), designed to provide the right level of academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support for every student. By coordinating this system across all grade levels, Rockport ensures that interventions and enrichments are timely, consistent, and effective.
Through professional development, curriculum leadership, and student-centered supports, the Office of Teaching and Learning works in partnership with families, educators, and the community to foster academic excellence, equity, and a love of learning for every Rockport student.
