Dr. Mark Branco, Superintendent of Schools
 
Dr. Branco has served for thirty years as an educator both in the classroom and in leadership positions. Prior to coming to Rockport, he spent the first 11 years of his career as a middle school and high school music teacher and band director. He then served as a middle school Assistant Principal for 5 years, a middle school Principal for six years, and an Assistant Superintendent for six years. Dr. Branco is in his second year of service as the Superintendent of the Rockport Public Schools. Additionally, he has facilitated a variety of professional development sessions throughout New England and teaches graduate classes in educational leadership. 
 
Dr. Branco has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Westfield State University, a Master of Education in Secondary Education from Fitchburg State University, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Northeastern University.  His professional areas of interest include: professional development; school improvement planning; community relations/communication; organizational and change leadership; supervision & evaluation; curriculum development; instructional, assessment & grading practices. Dr. Branco enjoys spending free time with his family, playing his drums, and playing golf. He is a better drummer than golfer.
