The Rockport Integrated Preschool provides children with and without special education needs the opportunity to learn and grow in an inclusive, diverse learning environment. The program serves children with a wide range of abilities and affords all students opportunities for highly specialized teaching and the chance to learn and interact with a variety of learning styles.
The preschool uses a comprehensive curriculum program called Opening the World of Learning (OWL). Our classrooms are lively and developmentally appropriate. They are full of books, songs, stories, and conversations. Children experiment and explore while engaging in purposeful and playful learning experiences an d develop academically, socially, and emotionally at their own pace. We also imbed seasonal thematic units into our curriculum.
The Rockport Integrated Preschool follows the Rockport School District Calendar.Preschool hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00 – 2:00.
What makes us special?
*Being housed in the Rockport Elementary School allows us to have access to enrichment opportunities within our preschool day.
*Students visit Music and Physical Education once a week where they are engaged in age appropriate activities by our talented specialist teachers. The preschool team also collaborates with the Technology Inclusion Specialist to embrace technology as a tool that enhances curriculum experiences for students.
*We also have access to the Health and Wellness Center along with the school garden. The preschool team supports the health and wellness in young children by creating opportunities for them to participate in cooking activities that allow them to explore with their senses, and build basic math and literacy skills.
*We participate in community outreach with the Rockport Public Library bringing storytime to our classrooms and field trips to the library in the Spring.
