The Rockport Middle and High School Green Team is concerned with improving the environment in the school and the community. One way we are doing this is growing vegetables in the Rockport School's greenhouse and raised beds. During the school year, we suppy the cafeteria with fresh produce. Outside the school year, these vegetables are sold at the Rockport Farmer's Market every Saturday from 9 to 1 in downtown Rockport. We 'grow local' to reduce the pollution created when food is shipped from long distances to our supermarkets. All food is grown, harvested, and sold by students at the schools. We use organic methods to grow all of our vegetables.
